“I have worked out since I was 14 years old. I have taught group fitness classes for nearly 18 years. Most weeks I was teaching up to seven to 10 (strength, cardio, and yoga) classes a week. I loved what I was doing and it worked reasonably well. . .for a while. At some point the stress of life and age caught up with me and I just COULD NOT exercise enough to outweigh my terrible eating habits.

I tried using My Fitness Pal to record my eating. I tried counting macros on my own.  I read articles and researched the right foods to eat. I tried Keto and intermittent fasting. All I got was heavier and more discouraged because I was killing myself in the gym and losing ground.

Then one day I saw a post from my friend Jessi about her checkin and I was immediately intrigued. I’d never even considered hiring a nutritionist; I mean that is something rich people did, not average me who worked out all the time and understood how to be healthy. Well, I swallowed my pride – that was my very first challenge – and started working with Sarah in February 2020, yup immediately before COVID hit, and I am so thankful that I pulled the trigger and hired her to be my coach!

Sarah completely changed my workout programming. She didn’t tell me to quit my job teaching but I did have to add in heavy strength training. She told me all of my strength training classes were really just cardio (WHAT?!).  Then when the world shut down due to COVID-19 she kept me going strong at home with limited equipment at first. She also taught me how and held me accountable to eat for fuel and because I was hungry, not just because.

Fast forward to now, I am eating better than I ever have yet still enjoying the treats I love in moderation (something I was never able to master on my own). And I look and feel better than I have in my entire life.  I am working out five times per week with three to six minutes of cardio thrown in after workouts. I recommend her all of the time and am enjoying watching my niece and best friend experience great results from her coaching as well!
