Meet Team Fit With Me

Sarah F – Certified Personal Trainer + Nutrition Coach

I struggled with my weight, binge eating and body image issues since I was a child and have been through the yo-yo dieting wringer with numerous failed attempts.

After hitting rock bottom and finding a nutrition coach who changed my life I was inspired to pay it forward and help others reach their goals in a healthy, sustainable way.

Hours of cardio, low calorie, low carb and extreme diet plans are not the answer for long term results and it is not only my passion but my calling to teach others how to properly fuel their bodies, not feel deprived, and reach their goals.

Through my experience and personal struggles I relate to every member of the team and we work together to navigate any challenges that come your way.

It is truly an honor to be a part of hundreds of journeys, changing lives and giving others the gift of health.

Jess V – Certified PN1 Nutrition Coach

Hey there! I’m Jess, a mom, wife, main breadwinner and Team Fit With Me coach.

I had vertical sleeve gastrectomy in 2014, but due to complications with acid reflux was revised to gastric bypass in 2014. I lost 120 lbs with weight loss surgery, was successful for some time, but struggled with postpartum/post breastfeeding regain. I thought if I went back to my WLS basics the weight would come off like the first time. Unfortunately, that was not the case and I had much more to learn on how to work smarter, not harder!

I know what it’s like to juggle being a wife, a mom and to work full time while still making health a priority.

I’ve spent years dieting, restricting, losing, regaining and losing again.

I’ve been working with Sarah for the past six months and have finally found a lifestyle that “clicks” with me. The immense value I found In hiring a nutrition coach inspired me to further my education and become a coach myself; I want to help other people find their balance incorporate healthy living without unnecessary sacrifices.

Getting healthy and losing weight isn’t just about the numbers, it’s about finding balance in a busy life. I want to show you how to enjoy it while working towards your goals.

I am a certified PN1 Nutritionist, continue mentoring with Sarah and am ready to share my knowledge with you!

If I can do this so can you! And I want to help!

Keri G – Certified PN1 Nutrition Coach

I have been very active most of my life as a former cross-fitter and half marathon runner; I’ve tried just about everything and love most ways of moving my body. My problem has always been consistency and I have found that I am very good at pushing to the extreme with exercise and diet. Of course, with that I saw great results, but they weren’t sustainable, especially with age. Hence why I could never be consistent.

When I started working with Sarah, everything changed. There were pieces of the puzzle with my own health I was missing for years that Sarah helped me to find. Working out smarter, not harder and making this a lifestyle that was sustainable was another piece. I know I am still a work-in-progress, but I know what to do and I am finally on my way. The cherry on top? I finally feel ready to help others find their way.

I have been passionate about functional nutrition and physical fitness for many years. I received my Precision Nutrition certification in 2019 knowing that someday I wanted to help others understand how the food they eat is so directly related to how their bodies function and thrive. I am continuing to work on my education mentoring with Sarah, taking various certification courses, learning to read lab work, reading and researching in my spare time which involves frequently falling asleep with a book in bed.

I am so excited to be a coach on Team Fit With Me and thrilled to work with women that I know will inspire me as I walk alongside them in their journey for lifelong health and wellness.

Let’s do this!

Renee Doehler – Certified Personal Trainer

I wasn’t born this way! I know what it’s like to struggle with my weight. After the birth of my second child, I was finding it impossible to lose the weight I had gained. My journey began by taking hours of aerobics classes, then teaching hours of them, and becoming certified in sports nutrition. I ultimately figured out that the only effective way to achieve and maintain my ideal weight was to change the way I eat and exercise smart.

I have been in the fitness industry for over 35 years and have worked with all types of people, from competitive athletes to the physically challenged.  I love seeing my client’s progress through proper coaching in nutrition and exercise.

Resistance training, practicing yoga, moderate cardio and proper diet are the key elements to my physical and mental well being.

Kristan Schettler – Certified Personal Trainer

Hi! I’m Kristan, and I am so glad you’re checking out our team; we want nothing more than to help you find your happy and healthy! Fitness has always been something I am passionate about.  I began working out with Jane Fonda in my basement in the ‘80s, and, yes, I wore the leotard! In 2004, as a stay at home mom of 3, I began teaching group fitness at our local YMCA.

I have taught group exercise and worked with clients individually off and on since that time.  Three years ago, I went back to my full time job of teaching students with behavior disorders in our small town of Carlisle, IA, but my passion for helping others get and stay healthy has remained strong!  Coinciding with my return to full time work, our oldest son headed off to college, our daughter was entering her senior year of highschool, and our youngest son was in a life altering UTV accident on our farm requiring 5 surgeries.  All these things, combined with being in my mid 40s created the perfect storm.

I always struggled with believing I could out exercise my poor diet choices, and until this time, for the most part, I had remained moderately successful at it, but  I found weight creeping on in spite of my rigorous exercise regimen. I attempted several extreme fad diets and the more moderate Weight Watchers plan, but any weight that I lost, I would quickly gain back plus a pound or two more.

It took finding Sarah at Teamfitwithme and learning how to truly get control of my nutrition as well as modifying my workout routine (less is more) before I could find my happy and healthy.  I’ve worked with Sarah for a year, and joining her team was a no-brainer decision! I am thrilled to be part of a team who truly desires to serve and educate others in a balanced, healthy lifestyle!

Billy Doehler – Certified Personal Trainer

Too often, when people see a very fit person, they assume that person must have won the genetics lottery; he or she was simply blessed with an enviable physique. It was quite the contrary for me.

I was a big baby (9 plus pounds at birth), and then I was a big kid. I was taller than my classmates in every grade, but I was fat and soft. I dreaded the old “shirts and skins” basketball games we played, hoping to be on the shirts team.

In my late teens, I discovered bodybuilding, and I was quickly hooked on it as I began to see results. This was the late 70’s and bodybuilding was far from mainstream so I trained in some dungeon like gyms with some hardcore people ranging from pro wrestlers to police officers.

From the outset, I was fascinated by the science associated with gaining muscle and losing body fat, and i devoured any and all information I could find. This was way before the internet so I had to rely on a skimpy selection of muscle magazines hoping the information there was accurate and not just published to sell dubious supplements.

Nevertheless, I spent my twenties on a crazy bodyweight rollercoaster. My weight literally ranged from 185 (too light for my 6’2” frame) to 260 (too heavy unless I was hoping to grow to 6’8”). In retrospect, I think there was a part of me that didn’t think I “deserved” the physique I desired.

In my early 30’s, I found myself well on my way back up to 260 (keep in mind, I was devoted to my weight training regardless of my eating habits). I was around 230 at the time. I made a decision to stop the madness, and endeavor to be the healthiest 230 pounder I could be. That change in mindset was the key to the physique I now have at 61 years old! Within 6 months, with no depravation dieting, I was a lean 200 pounds, and I’ve never looked back.

Having retired from a successful career in Marketing Services, I am now focused on my true passion: helping others overcome the myriad obstacles preventing them from being their personal best. I focus beyond the mechanics of proper weight training, and help my clients achieve the mindset that will virtually guarantee success.
